I actually preferred the crown rightly positioned, instead of the one hanging tilted on the A. I think the crown tilt has been down too many times. Also, with your other logo showing the shoes being positioned at a slant, you would need to have something to contrast that. And I think having the crown on the rightly positioned will contrast the hanging position of the shoes.
So my vote is for the one with the red font. Now, that does not mean to keep the red font...but the crown placement, definitely go for that. :)
Definitely centered. The balance gets really thrown off when you put it on the A. I remember you said you have a lot of ideas about using the BBQ sauce and making it look messy. Have you tried just writing 'BBQ' in the logo instead of the whole word, and making it look messy and saucy? It might look good up against the font you chose for 'ANDY'S'...
